Dalam video pendek yang muncul di youtube tersebut, sang Syaikh tampak sedang menjadi pembicara dalam sebuah muktamar. Dalam kesempatan itu, syaikh menyatakan dukungannya kepada Jendral kudeta, Abdul Fattah As Sisi. Dirinya mengatakan, ” As Sisi adalah sosok yang Allah kirimkan untuk membangun mesir kembali.As Sisi adalah cucu Husain, keturunan rasulullah Sallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam”, ujarnya tak berdasar.
Dirinya menyeru hadirin untuk ikut andil menyetujui mendukung referendum undang-undang baru yang diskenario oleh pemerintah kudeta.
“pilih “yes” untuk referendum! Pilih, agar kalian tidak berdosa di hadapan Allah. Dengan kontribusi anda itu, anda turut membangun Mesir, menyelamatkan Mesir, dan mendukung bangsa Mesir. Cintailah Allah dan rasulnya, serta cintailah sosok yang Allah kirim untuk Mesir ini, cucu Husain sekaligus keturunan rasulullah Sallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam”
Di akhir penyampaiannya, syaikh berdoa ” Ya Allah bantu dan tolonglah As Sisi dari pihak yang memusuhinya. Selamatkanlah bangsa mesir dan selamatkanlah tentaranya”.
